Updated on 7/03/09

The Rottweiler is a strong, intelligent & loyal breed.  Average lifespan is 7 to 10 yrs old, but there are numerous exceptions of them living to 12 and 14 yrs old.  This 6 yr old girl was placed through referrals from this site in just 5 days!  My best wishes to her in her new home.

Since there is no longer a dedicated Rottweiler rescue group that takes in & fosters homeless Rotties, the majority of dogs found here will be owner surrenders.

ADOPTERS:  If you contact any of the people listing a dog here, please make sure you mention that you saw him/her on the Alaska Purebred Rescue web page.  By doing so, the owner, or rescuer will know that this page is bringing them potential adopters!

**By listing a dog here, I am NOT vouching for temperament or health!  I encourage anyone considering adopting a dog to ask LOTS of questions and make sure you can put your hands all over the dog without getting growled at or bitten, *before* you bring the dog home with you.**

AVAILABLE FROM RESCUE or SHELTER:

Delphie was picked up as a stray on June 11th and has been at Anchorage Animal Control ever since.  I will try and find out more info on her, but they guess her age at 11 yrs old.  Having owned Rotties for almost 20 yrs, I don't think she's that old, but I will update as I get info!!  I really hope someone will give this old girl a chance.

Venus is available for adoption thru Friends of Pets & was rescued from Animal Control.  At approx. 2 yrs old, she is an energetic, playful girl that gets along good with people and dogs over 25 pounds.  She will need a fenced yard for a safe place to burn off some of that puppy energy.

If you're interested in Venus, click here to fill out an adoption application w/Friends of Pets.

Please make sure you mention you saw Venus at the AKpurebredrescue.com web site.  Thank you!

AVAILABLE FROM OWNER:

Check at Anchorage Animal Care & Control or Mat-Su Animal Shelter for Rottweilers that may be available.  Follow the link to the "Mat-Su Animal Shelter" to Alaska Dog & Puppy rescue, who may have Rottweiler mixes available.
